7 August 2009 New Zealand Cross Country Champs at Waikanae Park, Waikanae, Kapiti Coast - Alex Parlane capped of a very successful cross country season with a win in the Senior Mens race. In a perfectly executed race Alex was always in control and made his winning break just before the 5km mark and never looked challenged covering the 12km in 39.14 for a 15sec winning margin over Melbourne based Shaun Kravitz. Alex become only the fourth first year senior to win the title in 91 times the title has been contested and follows in the footsteps of Murray Halberg (1953), Rex Maddford (1966) and Richard Potts (1991). Andrew Catley in his first NZ title race ran a very close 2nd to winner Angus White (Egmont) in the Boys 12 event.Results Photos
17 July 2010 Auckland Cross Country Champs at Pukekohe Showgrounds - Alex Parlane made it title number 2 with a convincing 1min 10sec win. He cleared away from the opposition near the end of the second of the 6 lap race and added the Auckland title to the North Island title that he had won the previous Saturday. Andrew Catley made up for the disappointment of not finishing at Taupo with an impressive 15 second win to add the Auckland Boys 12 title to the Boys 10 title he won 2 years ago

10 July 2010 North Island Cross Country Champs held at Spa Park Taupo - Alex Parlane won his first major championhip title with his fourth win this season. Alex was all class when he went to the lead on the downhill section of the first lap. He had a 12sec gap at the end of the first lap and increased this to a 51sec winning margin over James Coubrough at the end. His winning time of 28.18 for the 9000m was the fastest time since the last time Jonothan Wyatt (World Mountain Running Champion and course record holder with 26.48) last competed and won at Taupo in 2003

26 June 2010 North Harbour Cross Country held at Long Bay - Alex Parlane won his third straight Grand Prix race of the season with a 10sec win over Junior Cameron Graves. Andrew Catley also had his third win of the season.

He made his winning break going into the third lap of the five lap race and cleared out for a 34 second margin over Stephen Lett. 29 May 2010 Pakuranga Cross Country held at Lloyd Elsmore Park - Alex Parlane was very impressive when he won his first Senior Open Cross Country race. He dominated the race by controlling the race from the front and made his move going into the fourth lap of the five lap race. Unlike the previous race Stephen Lett was unable to close the gap and eventually finished 26 seconds behind Alex. Andrew Catley in his first race of the season was to good for the opposition in the Boys 12 race and won by 7 seconds.

15 May 2010 HEB Cross Country at Pukekohe Showgrounds - Alex Parlane finished a close 2nd in his first Senior cross country race. Alex held a 6 second lead going into the third and final lap but couldnt hold of the more experienced Stephen Lett who finished 6 seconds ahead of him at the finish

24 April 2010 Southland Cross Country Relays at Mt Roskill War Memorial Park - James Hand was a member of the Pakuranga Senior Mens team that won and Peter Wheeler was a member of the Junior team that finished 2nd in the Junior Relay

26-28 March 2010 New Zealand Track Champs held at QEII Park Christchurch - Alex Parlane tried to break the opposition when he took the lead with 1400m remaining in the Mens 19 5000m. He was unable to shake Daniel Balchin (1st) and Harry Dixon (2nd) and had to settle for 3RD place in 15.13.23. Rachael Catley ran her best race at a NZ Champs event but was unlucky due to illness to place and finished a close 4th in the Womens 19 800m in 2.16.14. James Hand drew the first heat in the Mens 19 1500m and was very unlucky to not qualify for the final when he was narrowly beaten into 4th in a slow 4.05.06. Alex Parlane placed 3rd in 3.58.22 in the last heat to qualify for the final. In the final he set the race alight when he busted to the front with 800m to go covering that lap in 57secs but was overhauled with 350m to go and finished 7th in 4.05. 76.

20-21 March 2010 North Island Secondary Schools Track Champs held at Newtown Park Wellington - Ray Wang ran a PB of 2.06.02 in the heat of the Intermediate Boys 800m and he also ran a PB in the 1500m final with 4.28.66

11 March 2010 Counties Manukau Secondary Schools Track Champs at Mt Smart - Sarah Blyde successfully defended the Senior Girls titles with wins over 800m in a PB of 2.28.91 and 1500m in 5.18.64. Fabian Castle also made it a double winning the Senior Boys 3000m (9.18.11) and 1500m (4.15.50). Ray Wang won the Intermediate Boys 1500m (4.31) and placed 2nd over 800m (2.12). Lachlan McNie placed 2nd in the Senior Boys 1500m (4.21.64) and 3rd in the 800m (2.05.47).

With a big surge halfway through the race he opened up a lead which he held to the end to beat Stephen Lett (2nd) and Jono Jackson (3rd). They had both beaten him the previous Sunday in the 5000m Champs.

28 February 2010 Auckland Senior Track Champs (Day 2) at Mt Smart - Rachael Catley won the Womens 19 800m title in a PB of 2.15.67. In her best race of the season so far she was to good for the competition and hit the lead in the final 50m for well deserved victory. Courtney Hendricksen won her first Auckland title with her win in the Womens 16 3000m in 11.20.99. In not ideal conditions Alex Parlane ran a strong race in the Mens 19 5000m finishing 2nd to Jono Jackson in 15.06.25. Fabian Castle ran a PB over 800m in 2.04.19

James got there just after misjudging by about 200m the 2.5km mark

10 October 2009 New Zealand Road Relay Champs held on Takahe-Akaroa course (Allandale to Coop Town) - The Women's 19 Team (Emily Kinsler, Alex Patterson, Kelsi Patterson,Courtney Hendricksen,Sarah Blyde and Lea Driscoll) finished 3RD and the Men's 19 Team (Fabian Castle,Alex George,Alex Parlane, James Hand, David Morton and Lachlan McNie ) finished 4th. Squad members to break Club records were Fabian Castle (4.8km-16.20), Alex Parlane (10km-32.24), James Hand (9.4km-31.03), Lachlan McNie (4.1km 13.51) and Sarah Blyde (6.5km-26.44). His time was the fastest time run in the 6 years the race has been held on the Lloyd Elsmore Park course. Daniel Holt-Pedersen was 2ND in 5.53 and Joshua Lee was 5TH in 6.08

1 August 2009 New Zealand Cross Country Champs held at the Halswell Quarry in Christchurch - Alex Parlane finished 2ND and 20 seconds behind winner Aaron Pulford in the Mens 19 race . His challenge for the title faded just over half way when Aaron powered away on the tough hill section. He then held of Mike Banks in the sprint to the finish for a well deserved silver medal which also helped the Auckland team to victory in the teams race. Other squad members places. 19 July 2009 Auckland Cross Country Champs at Pukekohe Showgrounds - Alex Parlane beat a quality field to win the Mens 19 title. After 5.5km of the 8km race there were still 5 runners in contention until Mike Banks made his move on the toughest hill on the course. Alex stuck to Mike as they moved away from the others until 300m from the finish when Alex seemed to have made the winning break only to have Mike snatch the lead back, but Alex dug deep to take the victory on the line. James Hand held on well for well deserved 3RD place. David Lee was unlucky to finish 2ND in the Boys 14 race after health issues leading into the race. Hayley Faulconbridge was impressive when finishing 3RD in the Girls 14 race

4 July 2009 North Island Cross Country Champs held at Spa Park Taupo - David Lee made it 5 titles in as many years when he won the Boys 14 race. With an impressive tactical race he made his move on the tough hill sections and finished 11 seconds ahead of Andrew Muggeridge at the finish. Lea Driscoll (Girls 14) finished 3RD and was only 9 seconds behind the winner.

20 June 2009 New Zealand Secondary Schools Cross Country Champs held at Saxton Field in Nelson - Scott Russell surprised many with an outstanding run for 3RD in the Senior Boys race over 6000m. Run over a mainly flat and dry course, Scott used his track speed to advantage from the start and positioned himself in the front pack behind pre-race favorite and eventual winner Aaron Pulford. At the half way mark he was in 4th and shortly after moved into 3rd and kept digging deep over the final lap to hold on to the finish for a well deserved bronze medal. David Lee found the fast start hard going in the Year 9 race over 3000m. He lost ground to all the placegetters but still gave it his all to the finish and placed 5th only 13 seconds behind the winner Magnus Whyte. 26 May 2009 Auckland Secondary Schools Cross Country Champs held at St Kentigerns College - David Lee was very unlucky to have not won or at least been awarded with first equal in the Junior Boys race after a very close battle all the way with Magnus White. In the final sprint to the finish there was nothing in it and David threw himself over the line only to be denied the title by the judges. Many onlookers were in the view that David had actually won. 4-5 April 2009 North Island Secondary Schools Track Champs held at Newtown Park Wellington - Ray Wang ran another big PB when he finished 2ND in the Junior 800m in 2.08.08. His time also broke the Club Record for 13 Boys that had stood since 1989. Second places were also gained by David Lee (Junior 3000m - 9.52.69) and Sarah-Amy Drummond (Open 3000m Walk - 16.58.49) who broke the club records that she had set on the same track 8 days previously. 27-29 March 2009 New Zealand Track Champs held at Newtown Park Wellington - Scott Russell won his first NZ Track champs medal with a brillantly run race for 3RD in the Mens 16 1500m race in a PB time of 4.03.85 Medals were also won by Lachlan McNie in the Mens 16 2000m Steeplechase (2ND-6.39.56) and Anthony Curry in the Senior Mens 3000m Steeplechase (3RD-11.52.27) PBs were also run by Rachael Catley (Womens 19 800m in 2.17.19-6th) Sarah Blyde (Womens 16 800m in 2.28.93-10th) Courtney Hendricksen (Womens 16 3000m in 10.51.12-7th) Alex Parlane (Mens 19 5000m in 15.34.51-7th) and Nathan Sands (Mens 16 1500m in 4.27.06) James Hand (3.58.06-7th) and Alex Parlane (3.59.68-9th ) ran strongly in the very competive Mens 19 1500m Final. Rachael Catley placed 2ND in the in Senior 800m in a PB of 2.20.45. Rebekah Burbury retained the Open 2000m Steeplechase title with 8.06.53. 14 March 2009 Auckland Junior Track Champs held at Mt Smart - Ray Wang won his first Auckland Track title in style when he blew the 13 Boys 800m field apart at the bell with a negitive split for his final lap. His winning time of 2.11.15 was also a 3 second PB. Ray also placed 3RD over 400m with 59.8. Timea Egan won the 12 Girls 400m title in 63.9 and placed 2ND over the 800m with 2.31.45. David Lee made it 3 years in a row when he won the 12 Boys 800m title in 2.17.18. 12 March 2009 Counties Manukau Secondary Schools Track Champs at Massey Park (Day 2) - Lachlan McNie added the Senior 1500m title (4.20.27 PB) to the 800m he had won the previous day when he beat training mate Fabian Castle (4.21.40) in a closely contested race. Ray Wang (4.40.15 PB) and Sarah Blyde (5.08.48 PB) also added the 1500m title to the 800m. Peter Wheeler finished 3rd in the 1500m (4.43.39 PB)

He was only .46 of a second short of winning the title when narrowly beaten by Eric Speakman. An outstanding run by Courtney Hendricksen saw her place 5th in the Junior 4km Road race with 15.16. 6 September 2008 New Zealand Road Champs at Ruakura, Hamilton. David Lee successfully defended the Boys 12 title when in ran the 2000m in 6.38. This was his fourth NZ title after winning the NZ Cross Country title last month and also winning the Cross Country/Road double last year. Fabian Castle ran his best race so far when he picked up his first NZ Champs medal with Bronze in the Mens 16 race. He also was a member of the Auckland Team that won Silver. Peter Wheeler won Bronze in the Boys 14 race when he covered the 3000m in 10.01. Courtney Hendricksen representing Auckland for the first time placed 8th in the Womens 16 race and also helped her team to win Gold. Alex Parlane placed 11th in the Mens 19 race and was a member of the Auckland Team that won Silver. Sarah Hughson placed 7th in the Girls 12, Jay Wallwork placed 7th in the Boys 14, Lachlan McNie placed 13th in the Mens 16 and Sara Bradley placed 9th in the Womens 19.

21-27 April 2008 The 3RD Annual COACHD'S Training Camp was held in Rotorua. Staying at the Rotorua Holiday Thermal Park were 24 athletes, 14 parents and 8 brothers or sisters. Morning runs were around the outside of the golf course and afternoon runs were in the Redwoods Forest. The hilly Purple Track was very popular on the long runs. Saturdays Time Trial saw 25 runners race over the Blue track. James Hand ran another course record of 10.40 for the 3.4km. Sara Bradley ran the fastest female time of 13.04

19 April 2008 Magness Handicap Cross Country Race at Lloyd Elsmore Park. Fabian Castle took 19 seconds of Alex Parlanes 16B record time set in 2006 when he ran 14.02 for the 4180m. David Lee (12B) took another 4 seconds of his course record with 7.50 for the 2279m. Course records were also set over 4180m by Rebekah Burberry (W17) 17.47, Sara Bradley (W19) 16.52, Cory King (M17) 15.12 and Alex Parlane (M18) 13.58

12 April 2008 Southland Cross Country Relays at Mt Roskill War Memorial Park. Alex Parlane was a team member of the Pakuranga Open Mens A Team that won the Open Relay. Fabian Castle ran the fastest time of the day in the Junior relay when he gave his team a big lead on the opening lap. Lachlan McNie, Kelsey Wayne and Joachim Noble keep the team in the front for an impressive victory. The Clubs B Team of David Lee, Peter Wheeler, Chloe Higson and James Calway finished only 50 seconds before in 3RD place. The Clubs C Team of Douglas McMaster,Samir Brown, Courtney Hendricksen and Alexander Lloyd placed 5TH.

Her winning time broke both the Championship record set in 1987 and the Club Record set in 1982. Timea also won Silver in the 400m with a PB of 65.24. David Lee (11 Boy) won another Auckland 800m title when he ran 2.18.00 and broke the Championship record that had stood since 1985. Lu'isa Toetu'u was third in the 12 girls Discus. Sarah-Amy Drummond was second in the 13 girls 1500m walk in a PB of 8.29.41. He was second in the 1500m with a PB and club record of 4.40.46 and third in the 400m in a PB of 62.16. Chloe Higson finished second in both the 14 girls 800m and 1500m. She did a PB of 5.04.78 in the 1500m. Lu'isa Toetu'u was third in the 12 girls 400m in a PB of 63.61. Nathan Sands was third in the 14 boys 800m in a PB of 2.08.58. 8 December 2007 New Zeland Secondary Schools Track and Road Champs in Wanganui - Alex Parlane (8.41.42) ran a gutsy race in the Senior 3000m to win the bronze medal. His time was a PB and also broke the Mens 19 Club record which had stood since 1985. James Hand (4.04.62) ran a PB and narrowly missed a medal in the Senior 1500m when he finished 4th. Laura Wootton also went very close to a medal with her 5th place in the Year 9 3km Road Race. Scott Russell (7th-Junior 4km) and Sara Bradley (9th-Senior 4km) also had top 10 places on the road.

David Lee became the first male squad member to win a NZ title when he won the Boys 12 race by 8 seconds from training mate Jay Wallwork (2nd). The surprise run of day came from Jessica Hughson (3rd) in the Girls 12 race when she ran the perfect race and was rewarded with the bronze medal. She also narrowly beat Lea Driscoll (4th) by 4 seconds. Rory Martin (5th) in the Boys 14. Rebekah Burbery (16th) in the Womens 16. Alex Parlane (15th) in the Mens 19 and member of the winning Auckland Team.

24 July 2007 Interprovincial Secondary Schools Cross Country Relay was held at Bruce Pulman Park Ardmore. Alex Parlane and James Hand helped the Auckland team win the Senior Boys event. Sara Bradley was a member of the Auckland Senior Girls team that also won. Rochelle Seagar, Sarah Blyde and Lachlan McNie represented Counties Manukau teams that placed 4th in both the Intermediate Girls and Boys events
22 July 2007 Auckland Cross Country Champs held at Auckland Domain on a very muddy course. David Lee made it Auckland Cross Country title number 3 when he won the Boys 12 race. Laura Wootton peaked well after an early season injury to win her first Auckland Cross Country title in the Girls 14 race. Jay Wallwork (Boys 12) and Rory Martin (Boys 14) ran their best races of the season so far to both place 3RD. Rebekah Burbery (Women 16) and Alex Parlane (Men 19) were both selected to represent Auckland at the NZ Cross Country Champs to held at Wingatui Racecourse Dunedin on 4 August

19 May 2007 ACA Pairs Relay at One Tree Hill - Rory Martin, David Lee and Jay Wallwork helped the Boys team to a convincing 55 second victory over ACA. Sara Bradley and Rebekah Burbery had a good win in the Womens 19 race. Chloe Higson and Laura Wootton were members of Girls team who finished a close 2nd behind North Harbour Bays. Alex Parlane and James Hand were narrowly beaten into 2nd by ACA in the Mens 19 race.

10-15 April 2007 The 2ND Annual COACHD'S Training Camp was held in Rotorua. Staying at the Rotorua Holiday Thermal Park were 22 athletes, 14 parents and 10 little brothers or sisters. Morning runs were around the outside of the golf course and afternoon runs were in the Redwoods Forest. The hilly Purple Track was very popular on the long runs. Saturdays Time Trial saw 31 runners race over the Blue and Red tracks. Cheered on by the local tourists James Hand ran a course record of 10.53 for the 3.4km. Nina Ives ran the fastest female time of 13.20

7 April 2007 The first Club Cross Country race of the season saw David Lee set a new 11 Boys course record. His time of 8.00 broke the old record by 30 seconds which was set by John Lee in 2002.

2006/07 Track Season The Summer was very successful for Squad members who attained a total of 83 Championship places (41-1STs 28-2NDs 14-3RDs). Sara Bradley became the first NZ Champion in the squad with her win in the Womens 19 2000m Steeplechase at Inglewood. North Island Colgate Golds were won by Sarah-Amy Drummond and David Lee. South Island Colgate Games Golds were won by Chloe Higson (2) David Lee (2) and Lu'isa Toetu'u (1). 24 March 2007 David Lee set a new AUCKLAND and CLUB RECORD of 4.46.39 when winning the Auckland Champs 1500m title for 10 Boys at Mt Smart. Peter Wheeler won the 12 Boys 1500m title with a PB of 4.46.37 and Penny Blackbourn finished 2ND in the 14 Girls 1500m. In the John Walker Junior Mile James Hand placed 3RD in 4.25.82 (PB) and Alex Parlane placed 4th in 4.28.83 (PB) Rachael Catley was a member of the clubs Womens 16 team that placed 2ND in the Auckland Champs 4x400m relay in a new Club Open Womens Record.
