Auckland 3000m Champs at Mt Smart - Alex Parlane set another new club record with his win in 8.26.08. With a big surge halfway through the race he opened up a lead which he held to the end to beat Stephen Lett (2nd) and Jono Jackson (3rd). They had both beaten him the previous Sunday in the 5000m Champs.

Auckland Junior Champs at Mt Smart - Ray Wang was to strong over the final 200m when he won the 14 Boys 800m title in 2.07.48. Joshua Lee was narrowly beaten into 2nd in the 11 Boys 800m when he ran a 5 second PB with 2.24.12 . Timea won Bronze in the 13 Girls 400m with 64.89

Auckland Senior Track Champs (Day 2) at Mt Smart - Rachael Catley won the Womens 19 800m title in a PB of 2.15.67. In her best race of the season so far she was to good for the competition and hit the lead in the final 50m for well deserved victory. Courtney Hendricksen won her first Auckland title with her win in the Womens 16 3000m in 11.20.99. In not ideal conditions Alex Parlane ran a strong race in the Mens 19 5000m finishing 2nd to Jono Jackson in 15.06.25. Fabian Castle ran a PB over 800m in 2.04.19

Hotmeet at Mt Smart - James Hand won the Mens 19 800m in a PB time of 1.54.55. He had the perfect pacemaker with last seasons New Zealand M19 Champion Michael Whitehead leading for most of the way. Only Glen Ballam (1.52.31), Nick Willis (1.52.69) and Tom Osborne (1.53.79) have run faster in NZ this summer. Alex Parlane placed 3rd in the same race with 1.57.48. Auckland Junior 1500m Champs at Mt Smart - Ray Wang won his first Auckland 1500m title when he hit the front at the bell in the Boys 14 race and then held on to win in a PB of 4.29.33. Joshua Lee won his first Auckland Champs medal in the 11 boys race when in placed 2ND with a PB of 5.01.85. Lea Driscoll won bronze in the 14 girls race. PBs were also run by Ryan Killeen (5.32.33) and Sarah Hughson (5.36.45)

New Zealand Secondary Schools Track and Road Champs in Timaru - Top 10 places were gained by Lachlan McNie (4th-Open 2000m Steeplechase-6.31.43) Rachael Catley (5th- Senior 800m-2.20.58) and Fabian Castle (9th-Senior 6km Road race-19.55. Lea Driscoll ran a PB 800m of 2.30.63 in the Junior 800m Semi. Rachael Catley running in the Howick College Senior 4x400m relay team won Gold. They also set a new championship record with time of 3.58.41

Mike Whitehead set the race up with some great pacemaking taking the field to the bell in 2.53. Alex powered away on last lap to run the fastest time in NZ this Summer and the Number 1 ranking. James Hand finished 2nd with 3.57.25. Sir Barry Curtis 10km - Scott Russell during is long Sunday run finished 3RD in the Mens 19 race with a PB of 36.11 James Hand had an impressive battle with Ben Ruthe and eventual winner Jason Woolhouse for the money on offer for the first athlete to reach the 2.5km mark. James got there just after misjudging by about 200m the 2.5km mark

New Zealand Road Relay Champs held on Takahe-Akaroa course (Allandale to Coop Town) - The Women's 19 Team (Emily Kinsler, Alex Patterson, Kelsi Patterson,Courtney Hendricksen,Sarah Blyde and Lea Driscoll) finished 3RD and the Men's 19 Team (Fabian Castle,Alex George,Alex Parlane, James Hand, David Morton and Lachlan McNie ) finished 4th. Squad members to break Club records were Fabian Castle (4.8km-16.20), Alex Parlane (10km-32.24), James Hand (9.4km-31.03), Lachlan McNie (4.1km 13.51) and Sarah Blyde (6.5km-26.44). The Mens 19 team smashed the Club course record by 9min36sec with their 2hrs14min53sec for the 40.4km

His time was the fastest time run in the 6 years the race has been held on the Lloyd Elsmore Park course. Daniel Holt-Pedersen was 2ND in 5.53 and Joshua Lee was 5TH in 6.08

New Zealand Cross Country Champs held at the Halswell Quarry in Christchurch - Alex Parlane finished 2ND and 20 seconds behind winner Aaron Pulford in the Mens 19 race . His challenge for the title faded just over half way when Aaron powered away on the tough hill section. He then held of Mike Banks in the sprint to the finish for a well deserved silver medal which also helped the Auckland team to victory in the teams race. Other squad members places. Auckland Cross Country Champs at Pukekohe Showgrounds - Alex Parlane beat a quality field to win the Mens 19 title. After 5.5km of the 8km race there were still 5 runners in contention until Mike Banks made his move on the toughest hill on the course. Alex stuck to Mike as they moved away from the others until 300m from the finish when Alex seemed to have made the winning break only to have Mike snatch the lead back, but Alex dug deep to take the victory on the line. James Hand held on well for well deserved 3RD place. David Lee was unlucky to finish 2ND in the Boys 14 race after health issues leading into the race. Hayley Faulconbridge was impressive when finishing 3RD in the Girls 14 race

North Island Cross Country Champs held at Spa Park Taupo - David Lee made it 5 titles in as many years when he won the Boys 14 race. With an impressive tactical race he made his move on the tough hill sections and finished 11 seconds ahead of Andrew Muggeridge at the finish. Alex Parlane finished 2nd in the Mens 19 race in a fast 15.58 for the 5000m. Courtney Martin was 5th in the Girls 12 race and Andrew Catley was 6th in the Boys 12 race

North Harbour Cross Country held at Long Bay - James Hand had his first win of the winter when he held out fast finishers Jono Jackson (2nd) and Alex Parlane (3rd) in a very close Mens 19 race. David Lee (Boys 14) won his fourth straight Grand Prix race of the season. Andrew Catley (Boys 12) was unlucky not win when he was pipped on the line by clubmate Jake Pallister. Lea Driscoll (Girls 14) finished 3RD and was only 9 seconds behind the winner.

New Zealand Secondary Schools Cross Country Champs held at Saxton Field in Nelson - Scott Russell surprised many with an outstanding run for 3RD in the Senior Boys race over 6000m. Run over a mainly flat and dry course, Scott used his track speed to advantage from the start and positioned himself in the front pack behind pre-race favorite and eventual winner Aaron Pulford. At the half way mark he was in 4th and shortly after moved into 3rd and kept digging deep over the final lap to hold on to the finish for a well deserved bronze medal. David Lee found the fast start hard going in the Year 9 race over 3000m. He lost ground to all the placegetters but still gave it his all to the finish and placed 5th only 13 seconds behind the winner Magnus Whyte. Auckland Secondary Schools Cross Country Champs held at St Kentigerns College - David Lee was very unlucky to have not won or at least been awarded with first equal in the Junior Boys race after a very close battle all the way with Magnus White. In the final sprint to the finish there was nothing in it and David threw himself over the line only to be denied the title by the judges. Many onlookers were in the view that David had actually won. North Island Secondary Schools Track Champs held at Newtown Park Wellington - Ray Wang ran another big PB when he finished 2ND in the Junior 800m in 2.08.08. His time also broke the Club Record for 13 Boys that had stood since 1989. Second places were also gained by David Lee (Junior 3000m - 9.52.69) and Sarah-Amy Drummond (Open 3000m Walk - 16.58.49) who broke the club records that she had set on the same track 8 days previously. Auckland Junior Track Champs held at Mt Smart - Ray Wang won his first Auckland Track title in style when he blew the 13 Boys 800m field apart at the bell with a negitive split for his final lap. His winning time of 2.11.15 was also a 3 second PB. Ray also placed 3RD over 400m with 59.8. Timea Egan won the 12 Girls 400m title in 63.9 and placed 2ND over the 800m with 2.31.45. David Lee made it 3 years in a row when he won the 12 Boys 800m title in 2.17.18. Sarah-Amy Drummond won the 14 Girls 2000m Walk with a 26 second PB in 11.09.20.Other squad members to run PBs were Lea Driscoll (800m 2.36.30) and Samir Brown (800m 2.29.29)

Counties Manukau Secondary Schools Track Champs at Massey Park (Day 2) - Lachlan McNie added the Senior 1500m title (4.20.27 PB) to the 800m he had won the previous day when he beat training mate Fabian Castle (4.21.40) in a closely contested race. Ray Wang (4.40.15 PB) and Sarah Blyde (5.08.48 PB) also added the 1500m title to the 800m. Peter Wheeler finished 3rd in the 1500m (4.43.39 PB)

Counties Manukau Secondary Schools Track Champs at Massey Park (Day 1) - Lachlan McNie was a suprise winner in the Senior 800m when with a final surge at the line he beat the favourite Zaid Mohammed in 2.06.65. Titles were also won by Ray Wang (Junior 800m 2.15.32) Sarah Blyde (Senior 800m 2.31.37) and Fabian Castle (Senior 3000m 9.44.57). Other medalist were Peter Wheeler (2nd Intermediate 3000m 10.38.38) and Lea Driscoll (3rd Junior 3000m 11.34.88 PB)

Auckland Senior Track Champs (Day 1) at Mt Smart - Scott Russell (Mens 16 1500m 4.12.63) in a brillantly run tactical race threw himself across the line to beat long time rival Michael Vercoe-Curtis by .03 of a second and win his first Auckland track title. Counties Manukau Junior Track Champs at Massey Park Papakura - David Lee won the Boys 12 800m (2.23.2) and 1500m (4.36.5). Timea Egan won the 12 Girls 400m (64.0) and 800m (2.37.3), and also placed 2ND over 200m (28.1-PB). Sarah-Amy Drummond won the 14 Girls 400m (73.0) and placed 2ND over 800m (2.52.0). Ray Wang placed 2ND in the 13 Boys 400m (57.8-PB) and 800m (2.18.4). Courtney Martin placed 2ND in the 11 Girls 1500m (5.34.0) and 3RD over 800m (2.47.4). Porritt Classic held in Hamilton - James Hand smashed his 1500m PB by 7.5secs when in finished 9th in the Open Mens race in 3.53.42 His time also broke the Mens 19 Club Record by 5secs that Nick Burrow set back in 1993. David Lee also set another 12B Club Record in the College 1500m with 4.30.32 Others to run 1500m PBs were Lachlan McNie (4.24.87) Nathan Sands (4.29.24) and Rachael Catley (5.00.13) Anthony Curry (55.53) ran a PB 400m
